Under the Acid Soaked Railway Location and Quest Guide
Navigating the treacherous terrain of Pandora in Borderlands 2 often leads players into intricate puzzle-like side quests. One of the most iconic objectives during "The Lost Treasure" mission tasks players with finding a hidden switch located under the acid-soaked railway. Locating this specific spot requires careful movement through hazardous environments, making a clear guide essential for smooth progression.
Starting The Lost Treasure Quest
To initiate this journey, Vault Hunters must first head to Sawtooth Cauldron to obtain an ECHO recorder. Defeating local enemies in this zone will eventually cause them to drop four map fragments. Once all pieces are collected, Brick directs players to head straight into the dangerous Caustic Caverns.
Inside Caustic Caverns, players are presented with four riddle-like clues pointing to hidden switches scattered across the map. Understanding how to read these clues saves valuable time and prevents unnecessary damage from corrosive hazards.
Finding the Acid-Soaked Railway Location
The acid-soaked railway refers to the massive ruined track structure extending across the corrosive lake. Players must navigate toward the center of the lake where large support pillars anchor the elevated rails. The target switch is mounted directly on the middle support pylon.
Reaching this pylon requires crossing nearby landmasses or carefully stepping around the caustic water to avoid heavy elemental damage. Once in position, interact with the switch to fulfill this specific clue requirement.
Activating the Remaining Switches
In addition to the railway location, players must interact with three other switches located across Caustic Caverns. These are situated within the infested warehouse, under the digger's shadow, and inside Dahl Deep Core 06. Each switch is tucked away near key structural landmarks or environmental obstacles.
Clearing out nearby Varkids and Spiderants ensures you can interact with each panel uninterrupted. Following a structured route across the zone makes toggling all four devices fast and efficient.
Reaching the Facility Top Floor and Claiming Loot
After activating all four switches, an external elevator unlocks between the Nether Hive and Rumbling Shore. Taking this lift brings Vault Hunters up to the Varkid Ramparts at the top of the facility. A final hatch switch opens the way to the hidden loot room containing the quest rewards.
Completing this objective rewards players with experience points, cash, and the unique Dahlminator pistol. Taking the time to locate every switch guarantees full completion of one of the game's most memorable environmental treasure hunts.
